Media and Interaction Lab (Milab) of Tsinghua University, directed by assoc. prof. Haipeng Mi, is an interdisciplinary research lab. Recent research topics focus on interface design, human-robot interaction, digital fabrication and interactive media and art.

Students of Milab come with different backgrounds. They are encouraged to conduct problem-driven research and to explore design possibilities in a wide context. Especially, We pay close attention to relations between human and technology, culture and traditions. We pursue high quality research achievements, as well as positive social impact.

Milab pursues a wide collaboration network in China and globally. Three collaborating mentors from top Chinese design institutions are actively participating from project advising to student mentoring. We sincerely thank our international partners and sponsors, from North American, UK, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan to Australia, for their industrial and academic project collaboration, student hosting and remote lectures.

Milab is operated under administration and supervision of the Department of Information Art and Design, Academy of Arts and Design, and the Future Lab of Tsinghua University.
