The image capture method of the existing Dunhuang mural is to set up the digital camera on the photographic collection frame, use the track for scattered segmentation, and then stitch it through professional image processing software. However, Dunhuang has a kind of small space caves, because of limited space such small caves can not be used in the current commonly used method of erecting standard rails. There are also some special-environment caves in the Silk Road Heritage Group, such as caves located high up, that need to be climbed by collectors, or that are not accessible on foot. Due to the environment, traditional acquisition systems are difficult to reach. In these extreme environments, new methods and equipment for the digital acquisition of grottoes are also required.
