Culture Heritage Digitalization (Dunhuang)

As a National Key R&D project, this work aims to develop new equipments and methods for mural digitalization in extremely small grottoes of Dunhuang and Silk Road sites.

We propose a method utilizing compact CCD camera and customized camera pan and rail system, which can be set up in limited grotto space. With remote control devices, staffs can adjust the camera and lighting outside the grotto.

The challenge of this work lies in the integration of equipments, the quality of lighting and the safety of equipments regarding heritage prevention.
